enterpriseIQ® is a spin-off of a four-year research project conducted at IMD International, Europe’s leading business school based in Lausanne Switzerland. The project discovered the Information Orientation (IO) metric, a powerful approach to enhancing a company’s ability to sustain, develop, expand and win in today’s highly competitive business environment. The IO metric is a validated measurement of the three key Information Capabilities of a company: (1) Information Management Practices (IMP), (2) Information Technology Practices (ITP), and (3) Information Behaviors and Values (IBV).
The research effort was led by Dr. Donald A. Marchand, Professor of Strategy and Information Management, and involved over 1,200 senior managers in more than 100 companies, 26 industries and nearly 40 countries. The results were published in two books: Information Orientation: The Link to Business Performance, Oxford University Press (2000) and Making the Invisible Visible: How Companies Win with the Right Information, People and IT, John Wiley & Sons (2001).
enterpriseIQ® was established in response to demand by global companies to use the IO metric to leverage knowledge and information for competitive advantage. Benchmarked against the enterpriseIQ® dynamic corporate database that now includes over 2,000 managers, companies find out how effectively their information and technology are managed, and how well their people use information to achieve strategic goals and superior business results.
